Abstract

Extracellular matrix (ECM) is mainly distributed in extracellular space, including collagen protein,non-collagen protein and proteoglycan. ECM can play important roles in regulating histogenesis and cell physiological activities through a complex network structure after binding with the special adhesion receptors. Laminin (LN) and fibronectin (FN),as important ECM components, exist widely in cell surfaces, extracellular fluid, connective tissue,as well as majority of basement membrane in various plants and animals. They not only play important roles in supporting, connecting and maintaining tissue morphous, but also regulate the processes of cell adhesion, growth, differentiation, migration, proliferation, even the ion exchange and information transmission. This article reviews the molecular structures, synthesis and distribution of LN and FN,as well as their expressions and effects in embryo implantation and development.
