The Synthesis of Asymmetrically 3,3 - Disubstituted Methyl Oxetanes

Abstract

With 2,2 - bis(bromomethyl)propane - 1,3 - diol as a starting material, six oxetane derivatives, 3 -bromomethyl - 3 - hydroxymethyloxetane(2) , 3 - ethyloxyrnethyl - 3 - hydroxymethyl oxetane(3) , 3 - azidomethyl - 3 -hydroxymethyloxetane(4) , 3 - azidomethyl - 3 - nitratomethyl oxetane(5) , 3 - bromomethyl - 3 - nitratomethyloxetane (6) and 3 - ethyloxymethyl - 3 - nitratomethyl oxetane(7) were successfully prepared. Their structures were determined with FTIR 1H NMR, MS and elemental analysis.
