On the Leadership of the National Anti-Japanese United Front

The triumph of the anti-Japanese war is the result of unity and cooperation between the two parties in China and the whole nation's collaborated struggle.Seen from the surface,the Kuomintang(KMT),as the ruling party,has held the leadership of the united front,while the Chinese Communist Party(CCP) has only held the leadership of the anti-Japanese base areas behind enemy lines.However,the CCP has actnalhy seized the political initiative on the implementation and realization of a political leadership over the united front.During the war,the two parties' rivalry for the leadership over the united front was,in fact,a dynamic development process with one on the rise and the other on the decline.
