Abstract

An experimental installation was designed and used for studying the flow characteristics of stable oil-gas two-phase slug flow in horizontal pipe. The average slug velocity was measured and the rules of slug velocity,slug length and slug frequency changing with superficial velocity were disclosed by using pressure signal cross-correlation method. The experimental results show that when liquid reduced velocity is constant,the slug velocity increases linearly with the increase of gas reduced velocity,while the slug length decreases by hyperbola. When gas superficial velocity is constant,the slug frequency increases basically linearly with the increase of liquid superficial velocity,while the slug length decreases by hyperbola.
