This thesis focus on basic knowledge of number theory and its applications in cryptography. introduce the background, current situation of the cryptography, and research purpose and significance of cryptography. Expounded classical cryptography, modern cryptography, focusing on the DES, RSA, EIGamal, elliptic curve cryptography (ECC) Finally, on cryptography theory and algorithms are put forward.This research work is of great significance to the future research work.
