Abstract
There is large inter-individual or race variation in the curative effects of antihypertensive drugs, which may be associated with gene polymorphism in the human. With the detection of candidate genes of essential hypertension, the antihypertensive pharmacogenetics is greatly promoted which is important for designing the individualized drug treatment for hypertensive patients, allowing optimization of blood pressure control and reducing the side effects of drugs. This paper reviews the relationship between antihypertensive drugs and polymorphisms and analyses the possible reasons of inconsistent findings about the gene polymorphism in previous studies.
