Abstract
This paper adopted the panel date about China's 31 provinces and cities of rural residents in consumer spending and income data from 1997 to 2006.Using a linear expansion of expenditure model(ELES) the data for research,and through in-depth study of rural residents in China's household consumption the changes in the structure,the rural population and its consumption of structural characteristics were revealed.
