Abstract
This paper analyzes the characteristics of Shangluoqi Shoal on the Chuanjiang River, causes for navigation obstruction, and variations of shoal pattern when the Three Gorges Reservoir is operated at 156m and 175m impounding water level respectively. Based on the real-surveyed data, this paper especially analyzes the regulation effect at the impounding water level of 156m.
