Study on river channel variation features of the Jingjiang reach after TGP operation

For the impoundment operation of TGP reservoir,upstream reservoir building and soil-water conservation works,the sediment entering into and releasing from TGP reservoir deceases largely,the downstream river channel will be scoured comparably severely in a long time and it is most severe for the Jingjiang river reach.Based on measuring data of the Jingjiang river reach after TGP impoundment,the river channel variation features of the Jingjiang river reach is analyzed and combined with computation results by mathematic model,the channel feature variation tendency of the Jingjiang river is predicted from the aspects of river pattern,river regime and river bed channel morphology etc.The research results show that significant change of the Jingjiang river features will not occurred generally,but the river regime will be adjusted in varying degrees in a long time and bank collapse is difficultly avoided in the river channel adjustment period.In order to safeguard the safety of the Jingjiang river reach,maintain healthy Yangtze river and promote harmony of human and water,some suggestions and countermeasures are put forward in the light of variation of the river channel features.
