Abstract

Playing is the form of drama. The forming of Chinese drama is the process of improving narrative ability in playing, so narration can be regarded as an effective perspective in the research of Chinese drama origin. The origin of Chinese drama can be divided into two stages. The first stage saw the forming of small drama (from the Han and Wei Dynasties to the Tang and Song Dynasties) while the second stage saw the forming of big drama (in the Song and Yuan Dynasties). The small drama distinguishes itself by the independent play of a simple story, and big drama came into being by independent play of a more complicated story.
