The cause,prevention and treatment of incisional hernia following laparoscopic surgery

Abstract

Objective:The purpose of the present study was to investigate the cause,prevention and treatment of incisional hernia following laparoscopic surgery.Methods:The clinical data of 9 cases with incisional hernia following laparoscopic surgery from Jan.2000 to Mar.2010 was retrospectively analyzed.Results:Operations were successfully performed in 9 cases.Among them,7 cases underwent preperitoneal repair with patch.The postoperative recovery was uneventful.Conclusions:The incisional hernia following laparoscopic surgery is related to obesity,incision position and size,age,and postoperative nursing.Better perioperative management is an effective way to avoid incisional hernia.
