Abstract
The authors proposed a new steel frame connection called modified Dog_bone connection with oval weld holes in this work. With finite elements analysis procedure, the authors analyze the connection on mechanics and anti_seismic performance. The results indicate the modified connection has the merits of both general Dog_bone connections and connections with oval weld holes. Its plastic deformation is larger and its stresss concentraion is less than another two. It is a connection that is worth studying in detail.
A significance statement is not available in the OpenAlex record.
