Abstract
by analyzing the data of Beijing 20% sampling survey of floating population in 1997, this paper studies the types of employment and residential areas of the floating population from different provinces. It shows that the floating population from the same province aggregate in employment types and residential areas, for example, those from Zhejiang usually self - employ, those from Anhui usually are construction Workers, those from Zhejiang domicile in Fengtai District, those from Henan in Zhaoyang District. To explain the causes, the Author also use the social network theory analyze their immigrate forms, information sauce of employment and social inter - actions.
