Abstract
After the British revolution and the failure in constructing a republic,the British people attempted to restore Stuart Dynasty.When Charles II tried to restore the monarch despotism,the conflicts between monarchy and parliament aggravated.This paper attempts to analyze the struggle between monarchy and parliament from the perspectives of religion,external relationship and economy.The paper holds that the struggle undoubtedly demonstrated the competition for paramount state power,and parliament,with financial power in hand,invariably gained the upper hand in the struggle.
