Abstract

Objective To evaluate the effect of intensity-modulated radiation therapy( IMRT) combined with concurrent hyperthermia( HT) and chemotherapy for recurrent cervical cancer after surgical therapy. Methods Sixty-four patients with recurrent cervical cancer after surgical therapy were randomly divided into two groups according to admission time. In IMRT combined HT group,32 patients received IMRT combined with HT. In IMRT group,32 patients received IMRT. All the patients concurrent received chemotherapy with cisplatin,in which recurrent in vaginal residue plus afterloading radiotherapy. Results The therapeutic effect of IMRT + HT group was significantly better than that of IMRT group( P 0. 05),but the one year survival rate had no significant difference( P 0. 05),while the two year survival rate of IMRT + HT group was significantly higher than that of IMRT group( P 0. 05). The adverse reactions had no significant difference between two groups( P 0. 05). Conclusion IMRT combined with concurrent HT,chemotherapy could improve the short-term therapeutic effect and two year survival rate of patients wtih recurrent cervical cancer, adverse reactions could be tolerated.
