Abstract
Monsoon is a popular subject in the field of meteorology and has been studied for centuries.Analysis shows that the Asian monsoon system can be categorized into three relatively independent sub-systems,including South Asian monsoon,East Asian monsoon, and plateau monsoon. This paper summarizes the study achievements on plateau monsoon, and it analyzes the characteristics of the plateau monsoon at different research stages. In addition,it points out that the future study should be focused on a better definition about plateau monsoon index and the physical causes of the plateau monsoon change.
