Abstract
To study the basic pharmacological action of Shengxue-bao in treating iron-deficiency anemia, iron element contained in ferrous sulfate as standard, rats of iron-deficiency anemia prepared by low-iron feed and blood loss were treated by or ferrous sulfale The recovery of he-malochrome and whole blood were observed and recorded, iron absorption and usage rate were calculated. Results:The effect of recovery of whole blood and hematochrome in rats could be enhanced significantly by Shengxurbao as compared with the ferrous sulfate group as the same dose of chalybeate taken in the two groups. The relalive absorption and usage rate of low, medium and high dose of were respectively raised 10% ,7% and 13% as compared with the ferrous sulfate group. Conclusion: Shengxuebao had the effects of promoting iron absorption and usage,recovery of whole blood in rats of iron-deficiency anemia, so the Granule has better basis of pharmacological action for treating iron-deficiency anemia.
