On the Origin of Qiang People in Dangchang

Abstract

By studying the two opinions concerning the origin of Qiang people in Dangchang and analyzing the Qiang people (the Liangs) in Northern Wei Dynasty, the article puts forward a different opinion and traced back the ancestors to Qiang people (the Liangs) to those in golden city; and outlined the development of Qiang people in Dangchang from about 5 A.D., when Qiang's Chief man in Dangchang was crowned.
