Abstract
This paper presents the common design principles and several effective methods of porting and optimizing video codec on DSP platform by taking porting H.264 to PNX1500 processor as an example. The main idea is to improve the video codec calculation efficiency performance by combining such optimization strategies as algorithm, parallel instruction and storage system with the specific ar- chitecture of target processor.Experiment results show the ultimately optimized H.264 encoder can compress D1 resolution video samples at less than 18fps to achieve almost real-time rate. This technique has been incorporated in a practical video communication system at present.
A significance statement is not available in the OpenAlex record.
A contribution statement is not available in the OpenAlex record.
Method details are not available in the OpenAlex metadata.
Findings are not separately available in the OpenAlex metadata.
Limitations are not available in the OpenAlex metadata.
Application details are not available in the OpenAlex metadata.
