Treatment and prognosis for non-small lung cancer in II stage

Objective To investigate the effects of different therapy methods on non-small cell lung cancer in Ⅱ stage.Methods From April 1988 to April 1993,264 patients with non-small cell lung cancers in Ⅱ stage were treated by radiotherapy, radiotherapy combined with chemotherapy,operation, operation with radiotherapy or operation combined with radiotherapy and chemotherapy.Results The one-year survival rate had no difference among five groups,but 3- and 5-year survival rate of radiotherapy alone was obviously lower than those of other four groups.The local control rates of patients who received operation with radiotherapy,operation combined with radiotherapy and chemotherapy were obviously higher than that of operation alone.Conclusion The survival rate is related to therapy methods for non-small cell lung cancer in Ⅱ stage.
