Abstract
The characteristic method was used to make a computative simulative analysis of the effect of water hammer after shutdown of the pump on the soft water cooling system of closed circuit for No.1 Blast Furnace of Wuhan Iron Steel Co. Pressure variation of water hammer of the cooling water system and its effect on the system were analyzed during emergent shutdown of the pump due to shutoff of power. It was suggested that expansion tanks should be used to avoid the above incident. Some problems needing attention are given. This provides technical basis for the system's optimum design and safety operation.
A significance statement is not available in the OpenAlex record.
