Abstract
Objective: To explore the value of low dose and thin slice CT scan in examination of thorax trauma.Method: 24 patients with thorax trauma were performed examinations including routine dose(200mA) CT scan and low dose(50mA) CT scan. Then the examine efficiency, quality of images and diagnostic value of the two methods were compared.Result: There's no difference between two methods in the display of lesions of chest trauma and three-dimensional reconstruction images of ribs.It shows good image quality, slightly larger image noise on the mediastinal window, but does not affect the diagnosis. Conclusion: Low-dose thin-section CT scan is suitable for inspection of patients with chest trauma,it shows no difference with the conventional dose in displaying traumatic lesions. It can reduce patient radiation dose significantly,DLP dropped by an average of about 60%,and reduce costs, extend the life of the tube.
