Abstract

Adult stem cells, which may be located at different tissues of human beings and mammals and have the potential to develop into different type of adult cells, have currently been identified in most type of tissues, such as bone marrow, cartilage, blood, nerve, muscle, fat, skin, cornea, liver and pancreas. Some of them, such as bone marrow stem cells, are capable of differentiating into developmentally unrelated cell types. Studies on adult stem cells have a bright application future on regeneration medicine of human beings.
