The Interrelationship between the She Dialect and the Wu Dialect of Zhejiang

The She Dialect and the Wu Dialect are the two dialects spoken by the She people of Zhejiang.No matter how indifferent to outside influences it appears to be,the She Dialect has inevitably been influenced by the Wu Dialect,a dialect spoken by local people in Zhejiang they have immigrated into.The two dialects have become closely connectected with each other.The interrelationship between the two dialects will be elaborated in terms of their phonetics and vocabulary.It is argued that,with the contact between the two dialects lasting,the powerful language is likely to affect the weak one and thus will eventually produce remarkable changes in its inner structures.
