Abstract
The alkylation reaction of mixture of o-cresol,m-cresol and p-cresol catalyzed by mesoporous molecular sieve catalyst to 2-tert-butyl-o-cresol,6-tert-butyl-m-cresol and 2-tert-butyl-p-cresol was studied. The effects of reaction conditions, namely catalyst dosage, isobutene dosage and reaction temperature were investigated. The reaction conditions were determined. The experimental results showed that the conversion could reach 96.25%, the selectivity could reach 98.36 %under the reaction conditions of reaction: catalyst/the cresol mixture weight ratio of 2%, temperature 95℃. The process is safe and environmentally friendly with low cost and low energy consumption.
