Abstract
Shendong mining area has been mining by adopting the method of full-seam mining for a long time.As the mining height is increasing year by year,the present height has reached to 6.8m.Owing to the reality that the thickness of many coal seams is changing,it is unable to mine the areas with thin coal seam by using too large height support,in the meanwhile,there occurs the problem of discarding part of top coal while using medium support to mine the areas with thickening coal seam.Therefore,the implementation of top coal caving mining technology in eastern panel with unstable thickness coal seam of Liuta coal mine will be a new mining technology in the mining of super thick and unstable coal seam in Shendong mining area.
