Abstract

[Objective] To assess left ventricular systolic synchrony and systolic function in hypertrophic cardiomyopathy by Tissue Doppler Imaging(TDI) technique.[Methods] Thirty patients with hypertrophic cardiomyopathy(HCM) and 18 age-matched healthy subjects as control group were performed with Pulsed TDI to record the ventricular septum and left ventricular lateral、anterior and inferior walls motion pattern in the left side atrial-ventricular annulus. The time dispersion of electromechanical motion in left ventricular systole、systolic velocity(Vs) at six sites in ventricular septum and left ventricular lateral wall were measured.[Results] Compared with control group(15.6±3.5)ms,The time dispersion of electromechanical motion in left ventricular systole significant increased in HCM group(31.5±12.3) ms obstructive HCM,(28.2±15.2)ms non-obstructive HCM,P0.001,but there was no significant difference between experiment groups(P=0.623).Vs in left ventricular segments of HCM group were lower than that of control group(P0.05),and there was no significant difference between obstructive and non-obstructive groups in HCM patients.[Conclusion] Impairment of systolic synchrony of left ventricular motion and systolic function exists in obstructive and non-obstructive groups in HCM patients.TDI can assess left ventricular motion in HCM patients independence of the load.
