Abstract

Through interpretation and analysis of TM image data in 1987 2001,development dynamic tendency of the Shule River Basin desertification land were studied. Result shows that: in the recent 14 years,desertification land area of Shule River Basin,which decreased by 56 985. 5 hm2,has a tendency to reduce;wind erosion saline land desertification all show tendency to go down,being 14 897. 5 hm2 4 272. 2 hm2 respectively in 2001;area of water-erosion land-desertification,which increase by 52. 3 hm2 in 2001 compared with 1987,increases slightly;Although desertification land area of Jiuquan city generally shows reduction of the absolute value,to the degree of desertification in each year,the phenomenon of desertification in 2001 is more serious than that in 1987. Concrete measures for desertification reverse were put forward, combined with actual situation of river basin.
