Abstract

The subgrade reclamation on expansive clay slope foundation, because of the strength of expansive soil down under water, will become weak intercalation easily and make the whole embankment slide even slumping along slope. The stability of subgrade on general slope foundation and easily coming into weak intercalation is analyzed by finite element method. The result shows that the stability safety factor and sliding surface of the subgrade can be obtained with the strength reduction finite element method without any hypothesis. And also it is an effective method to analyze stability of subgrade on the complicated slope foundation. It is a method deserving popularizing for analyzing stability of subgrades under complicate geologic conditions.
