Abstract

Objective:To provide sectional anatomical basis and CT image information of the lumbosacral nerve canal for the clinical diagnosis of lumbar spinal stenosis. Methods:The L 3-S 1 segments of the spinal column were selected on serial transverse from 30 adult cadaver and 36 adult CT scan images,each segments was classified into A,B and C zones. The nerve canal and related structures were observed and measured. Results:In zone A,the sagittal diameter of the nerve roots increased gradually from L 3-S 1. In zone B,the situation of the nerve root was very close to yellow ligament. In Zone C,the situation of the nerve root was very close to intervertebral disc. Conclusion:(1)The standard to evaluate lateral stenosis varies from the different lumbosacral segment.(2)The incidence of lumbar spinal stenosis increases gradually from L 3-S 1.
