Abstract
This paper firstly discuesses the reasons why Confucius loved poems. First of all, it is the influence of the atmosphere of the times. The second reason is the needs of the dissemination of culture and education. Moreover, it is Confucius's personal interest in poems. The paper then will make a new comment to the main ideas of Confucius's discussion to poems from the three aspects of recognition, judgement, derviation. At last the paper will conclude that Confucius's discussion to poems has made contribution the development of the commentary of the ancient Chinese poems and also has a farreaching influence.
