Abstract

The main bridge of Fenfangwan Changjiang River Bridge in Chongqing City is a light rail-cum-road steel truss girder cable-stayed bridge.The side span steel truss girder of the bridge on the south bank was assembled on the scaffolding.Taking the advantage of the topographic conditions of the south bank,the gantry crane was installed in between the auxiliary pier and transition pier and the steel truss girder over the two piers was assembled by the gantry crane by the aid of a large tonnage crane.Then the deck slewing crane was installed by the gantry crane by the aid of a truck crane,the steel truss girder over the transition pier and main pier was assembled on the scaffolding by the deck slewing carne and the geometric shapes of the girder were controlled by the temporary posts and tie members.As the assembling of the girder proceeded to the auxiliary pier and main pier,the geometric shapes of the steel truss girder were respectively adjusted and the system transformation of the structure was accordingly completed.
