Abstract
The effect of multi-component dispersant on rheological behaviors and stability of aqueous silica suspensions was investigated at different pH,milling time, ratio of multi-component dispersant and addition modes. The results showed that 45 v% aqueous silica suspensions were stable by adding 0.2 wt% AM-HL in acid condition(pH 2~5).The optimum pH was 3 and the effect of multi-component dispersant on stability of aqueous silica suspensions was better than the one of single dispersant. The viscosity of suspensions decreased firstly and then increased with increasing milling time. The suspensions got the least viscosity while milling time was 10 h.The stability of aqueous silica suspensions was enhanced by adding AM before HL when the ratio of AM/HL was 3∶7.
