Abstract
Eleven varieties of bitter gorud (Momordica charantia L.) were collected from Guangdong province. By artificial inoculation in the seedling, these variety resistance levels to wilt disease were identified and evaluated. Five varieties, included Green Prince, Jvbao No.2, Nanhai Darou, Fenglv and Huayan No.2, were resistant to wilt disease. Three varieties, included Youlv No.3, Nanhai Hourou F1 and Nongdeli, were moderate resistant to wilt disease. Hybrid Dading 103, Cuilv No.3 and Bifeng were susceptible to wilt disease. These results suggested that majority of bitter gorud varieties being grown in Guangdong were resistant or tolerant to wilt disease in present.
