Abstract
The mandrel is the most important heat-forming tool in MPM and its application effect decides the production cost of pipes. Through analyzing the relationship between retained speed of mandrel as one and mandrel pre-threading travel, mandrel size and usage of each side of the mandrel as the other, a retained speed of mandrel is properly selected to make sure of stability of MPM rolling technical process, accuracy of product dimensions and long life of the mandrel.
