Abstract
Objective To explore the expression of vascular endothelial growth factor(VEGF),substance P(SP)in gastric mucosa of portal hypertensive rats.Methods Male SD rats were randomly divided into two groups:portal hypertensive gastropathy(PHG)group(n=15) and control group(n=10).A two-stage ligation of portal vein in the rats in PHG group was performed.After two weeks,portal venous pressure was measured with the computer auxiliary multi-channel physiological recorder.The expression of VEGF and SP in gastric mucosa was detected by immunohistochemical Strephavidin-Peroxidase technique.Results The portal venous pressure in PHG group was significantly higher than in control group(P0.05).The expression of VEGF and SP in gastric mucosa was stronger in PHG group than in control group.Conclusion VEGF and SP may play a role in the gastric mucosal lesion of portal hypertensive rats.
