Abstract
To understand the content of high-molecular-weight glutenin subunit (HMW-GS) , quality property and the relationship between them in the wheat varieties (lines) in Ningxia province irrigation area in last two years, the components of HMW-GS and main quality properties of 22 wheat varieties (lines) were analized by SDS-PAGE. The results showed that: (1) Sedimentation value was not significant among the different HMW-GS and the constitution types of HMW-GS under the background of 5 + 10; (2) protein content and gluten index were significantly negative-correlated. Wet gluten content and gluten index were negative correlated. Protein content and dry gluten content were significant correlated. The correlation between other quality properties was not significant. (3) 2* subunit with 17 + 18 and 5 + 10 can improve sedimentation value, dry and wet gluten concent, gluten index of wheat varieties (lines) more than 1 subunit. (4) The constitution type of 2* , 17 + 18 and 5 + 10 was better than others in HMW-GS.
