A Discussion of Feng Zhenluan's Evaluation of the legends of Liao Zhai

Abstract

This paper makes a study of the evaluation methods that Mr.Feng Zhenluan used to evaluate the Legends of Liao Zhai Zhi Yi.Mr.Feng made a comparison between the description of characters,language,plot of the Legends of Liao Zhai with that of ancient China literature classics such the Book of Annals,the Three Kingdoms,the Story of Greenwood heroes,the Story of Western Wing room.Comparison,simile and synecdoche are used.Thus shows the artistic characteristics of Feng's evaluation of Laio Zhai which are profound content,concise language,grasping the key points and explaining thoroughly.
