Abstract

Dietary factors including calcium and vitamin D are major environmental factors influencing peak bone mass. A growing number of studies have demonstrated that increase of peak bone mass during development period is an important approach to reduce the risk of osteoporosis in the later life. In this article we reviewed the recent studies on the influence of dietary factors in children and adolescents on peak bone mass and bone health in the later life.
