Abstract
Gini coefficient is one of the main indicators to analyze the income inequality in the world. This paper discusses the meaning and calculation of Gini Coefficient and its application in China. Income inequality by income source, region, as well as urban and rural areas is analyzed. The purpose of this paper is to provide methods and statistical basis for analysis of income inequality in China.
