Abstract
Theory and method of inherently safer chemical process design is of great importance to eliminating or reducing hazards at source in chemical process.Safety property is the aiming point of inherently safer chemical process design,which considers safety property into process attributes to find a path of minimum risk.Idea and strategy of inherently safer chemical process design are described systematically in the paper.On the base of existing theory and assessment methods of inherently safer design,an improved index system and design process are presented.In addition,different MMA processes are analyzed in the paper,and the results show that the index system can well assess inherently safer chemical process design.
