Intravenous use of Ibutilide for cardioversion of atrial fibrillation and its nursing

Objective To analyze the safety of Ibutilide for cardioversion of atrial fibrillation to sinus rhythm,and take appropriate nursing,we observed the variety of heart rhythm,rates and complications.Methods Clinical events including cardioversion situation,heart rate changes and symptoms of 42 cases of patients with atrial fibrillation during the process of cardioversion by intravenous use of Ibutilide and a period of time thereafter were collected and analyzed. Results In the 42 candidates,33 patients were converted to sinus rhythm successfully; unconverted in 9 cases,in addition,there were some complications: ventricular tachycardia in 2 cases; hypotension with one patients and two patients with headache and vomiting. Conclusions To reduce the adverse reactions; improve the therapeutic effect,closely monitoring and proper care are necessary and beneficial for intravenous use of Ibutilide for cardioversion of atrial fibrillation.
