Abstract
Based on the cation complex of Fe~(2+) and 1,10-phenanthroline is absorbed and enriched by strongly acidic cation exchange resin in triethanolamine-hydrochloric acid medium, so cation exchange resin appear orange. A resin phase spectrophotometry for the determination of trace iron(II) has been developed, and the optimum experimental conditions are discussed. The detection limit is 1.65×10 -2 μg·mL -1 and the molar absorptivity is 9.44×104 L·mol -1 ·cm -1 .The method has been successfully applied to the determination of trace iron(II) in tea and phyllanthus emblical samples with satisfied results.
