Abstract

Objective To study the morphological characterizations of lamina propria lymphocytes of ileum of mice in mucosal immune response under antigen inducement. Methods The histological characterizations of lymphocytes in lamina propria of ileum in BALB/c mice which took salmonella typhi were observed by light and electron microscopes. Results The various morphologies of lymphocytes were observed in lamina propria under light microscopy. Under electron microscopes, there existed a lot of lymphocytes which cytoplasm were plentiful and pale coloring, some lymphocytes were passing through basement membrane of epithelium. There existed some plasma cells or pre plasma cells which had plentiful and distended endoplasmic reticulum. Conclusion The salmonella typhi may induce the immune response of lamina propria lymphocytes in mice, and lamina propria is the effective site of the mucosal immune response.
