Abstract

The network simulation is a kind of new network planning and designing technique. It shortens the (construction) period of the network, reduces the investment risk of networking. The simulation software plays an important role in the network simulation. In this paper, we analyze the concept and (characteristics) of the simulation. Then we introduce three kinds of main simulation software: OPNET,NS and GloMoSim. At last we illuminate the progress of network simulation using NS.
