Abstract
It is a necessary claim by community residents to become a main part during the rural tourism development,however the capability of participation is highly related to the characteristics of the community itself.This paper applies the concept of social capital,respectively starting out from the lens of structural social capital,cognitive social capital,bonding social capital and bridging social capital,to discuss the characteristics owned by Xinhua village of Heqing county,where residents take active parts in rural tourism development,and the dynamics between the social capital and residents' participation in tourism development,concluding that the roles,strengths and weaknesses manifested by above-mentioned types of social capital in community participation in tourism.
