Abstract

This paper discusses the challenge of knowledge based economy to the traditional education concepts in China from 4 respects,i.e.the purpose of education,the general mode of education,the methodology of teaching and the common beliefs to education.It points out that the key to the educational reform lies in the change of traditional Chinese educational mode of thinking,and efforts of reform should be made in moving from knowledge based education to ability education.
