Abstract
It is a key problem of stability against sliding of deep foundation in gravity dam design,there are no specific and uniform methods as the complexity of the problem at present.The formulas of reliability for calculating the stability against sliding at deep foundation of gravity dam are deduced based on reliability theory.The reliability of 7th monolith of Nongling hydropower station is calculated by the edited procedure.The calculation result shows that the reliability theory applied for stability against deep sliding of gravity dam is viable and effective.
