Analysis in Surgical Treatment of 22 Cases Having Cervical Stump Carcinoma

Abstract

Objective:To investigate the technique and approach of surgical treatment of cervical stump carcinoma and improve the surgical technology.Methods:A retrospective analysis of 22 cases having cervical stump carcinoma as treated surgically was performed from 2005.5 to 2007.11.Results:All patients underwent Wertheim-Meigs surgery,16 cases in association with radiotherapy or chemotherapy.The total tumor removal rate reached 100%,no mortality,and only in three patients the bladder was injured.All cases recovered well.Conclusion:It is high risk to operate on cervical stump carcinoma.Selecting appropriate operative method and skillfully using the operative techniques are the keys to get good therapeutic efficacy.
