Abstract
A new triazene reagent 1-(4-nitrophenyl)-3-(5-nitro-2-pyridyl)-triazene (NPNPDT) has been synthesized and the color reaction of NPNPDT with mercury(Ⅱ) has been studied. In the presence of Triton X-100,orange-yellow complex(1∶2) appears at pH 11 2 buffer solution of Na 2B 4O 7-NaOH.The molar absorptivity is 2 1×10 5 L·mol 1 ·cm 1 .Beer's law is obeyed in the range of 0~280 μg/L for mercury. The trace mercury was determined in human hair and urine by the proposed method with satisfactory results.
